Matala Dimitris Rooms for Rent has 15 A' class rooms, all of them with their own bathroom, balcony, Air-Condition, Heating, fridge, Satellite TV, swimming-pool for adults and pool for children, safe-box and phone.
In our tavern, near the pool and surrounded by flowers, you can enjoy your breakfast or a delicious traditional Cretan lunch. You might like to know that we also provide the meat for the snacks (local production).
There are two swimming pools with sweet water, one for adults and one for children, and a big terrace with sun chairs and umbrellas free of charge for our guests .
Matala beach is just 200m away, and the place is surrounded by trees and greenery, making it an ideal place for a relaxing vacation!
Also, we offer Internet access for reading and sending e-mails for all of you interested.
There is also the possibility to organize excursions all over the island with air-conditioned busses or even by renting a car or bike from us at the best prices.
Hospitality in Greek language treasures as one of the most precious values and inheritance we got from our ancient Greek roots and the Cretan culture. We mean to offer this to our guests while they stay in our Rooms for Rent.
A few words about Matala
Matala Crete, Greece - a place of spectacular sunsets, a small fishing village where the caves became a paradise for the "hippies" in the 70's. The hippies are missing, but Matala magic still flows and the village has been spruced up - well done!
We are very excited for having the opportunity to guide you in Matala Crete and in our Rooms for Rent. Matala is one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and we are really happy to be here.
My name is Dimitris Houstoulakis and I own and run Matala Dimitris Rooms for Rent in Matala with my wife Eleni. We have a family with three children, Marianthi, Giorgos and Dimitris-Junior. We enjoy very much having families with children stay with us, so the children can play together and enjoy the safe, child friendly environment.
We speak Greek, English and also understand a little German. The best part of our job is the opportunity we have to meet people from many different countries. We often organize "International" nights where people cook something traditional from their home country and we share it all together with good wine and a lot of fun. For all of you planning your next vacation to the magical Southern Crete and Matala, Dimitris Rooms for Rent is waiting to accommodate you for one of the most enjoyable holidays of your life, through a family and friendly environment.
How to get to Matala Crete, Greece
There are many scheduled and chartered flights to the Heraklion airport. If you tell us ahead of time when you will arrive, we can arrange to have a friendly taxi driver wait at the airport for you with a sign with your name on it. He can then drive you to our apartments (the fare is around 55 euros).
You can also choose to hire / rent a car of your choice, waiting for you at the airport, where you will be met by a helpful representative who will settle the formalities quickly and take you to your car.
